Hello all,

Thinking of an end of year clean-up here.

I would like to clean my computer, and get rid of all the useless and unnecessary files. All remnants of uninstalled programs, and such. Also I want to clear the empty space - like defrag or better - on my computer and speed it up. In brief, I want to get rid of all the crap that is not needed.

I want to know how to proceed, safely, without deleting any system files that are needed to run the system.

I am on Windows XP SP3. I am very happy with it. I have no intention of upgrading until this laptop will live, I will keep the same OS.

I mainly have text, spread sheets and PDF documents, also a lot of pictures (mostly JPEG files) and some videos, and a fair number of MP3 recordings.

I would be very grateful if some of you can enlighten me on how to proceed.

Thank you very much in advance for any help and advice you come up with.

Hello, can I see a couple logs please. :)

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.txt under the file type option. in other words make sure it is a .txt file instead of .arn Attach the text in your next reply.

Please download MINITOOLBOX and run it.
