I just got my new ram and here it is: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16820104520

So I replace it with my old ones which were 2x4gb Corsair vengeance 1800mhz. Everything starts up fine, it says hardware has been changed... I go to setup to overclock as i follow the instructions here:

Not 100% sure about my timings so I just put it on auto. Then I put my frequency to DDR3-2400 and my voltage to 1.65V. I then restart with all of my saved settings...

It turns on but no display and i don't see my GPU running. So then I restart and then it works and says, previous configurations could not be saved.

So I go back into bios and try every kind of voltage all the way down to 1.5V and restarting every time. I finally just put voltage on auto and STILL SAYS THE SAME THING. When I put back all settings back to default + OC Genie it works... I'm so confused... Help!!!!

It is possible that your present RAM will not run on the MB,

Your RAM should be installed in DIMM #2 and DIMM #4.

To ensure you have a stable platform,> Ensure the OC/Genie button is in the off position, > the OC/genie switch is set Gear #1 Default. > The Slow Mode Switch is set to Normal, Default.

it is best to set the BIOS to the Default Setting.

With the PSU turned off, > Press Clear CMOS button #1.

Start the computer and enter the BIOS.

> set the Date/Time/region.

> Go to the Exit Menu, > Select Load Defaults, Confirm Y,    Allow to boot to the Desktop. 

> Restart the computer and enter the BIOS.

> Go to the OC tab on the left.

Scroll down to and click Intel Extreme Memory Profile, XMP, > select  Enable, > Click Profile #1. 

> Go to the Exit Menu, > select, Save Changes and Reboot. > confirm Y.

 

Do you now boot to the Desktop OK?

Been a while since we heard from you.   Have you fixed your problem?? or do you need more help?   An update would be appreciated.

Thank you iamm for all your help, but I've fixed the problem by just keeping the ram I originally bought and was able to set the frequency to 2400 and set all ram timings(except for the command number) successfully.
