Hello,

I am not sure if this post belongs in networking, or in hardware. I have a Belkin N150 Wifi Usb adapter that seems to only work when it wants to. The connection will drop all of a sudden, even if I am still able to get online with my other devices. The times that I am able to stay online, while using the Belkin vary. Sometimes, it is a few minutes, and sometimes it is a few hours. After contacting Belkin, the only solution I was given was to reload the latest driver. I have done that several times, and the problem still continues. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing, and if you mind helping me out? Thank you for your time, and have a great night.

Reset your hosts files.

Click here to download RstHosts v2.0
Save the file to your desktop.
Right Click and Run as Administrator.

Hit start
Control Panel
Network & Internet
NetWork & Sharing Center
Change Adapter Settings.
Right Click Your Connection
Select Properties
Un-Check Ipv6
Hit ok.

Remove the tunnel adapters, with this Ms Fixit.

Please change your DNS to Google or Open DNS How to change DNS server.

Since your logs contain the error below.. Follow this guide as well. Fix: The master browser is stopping or an election is being forced.

Hello,

While following the directions on changing my DNS to google, I downloaded DNS Benchmark, and saved it on to a flash drive because I am having a hard time getting a connection on the PC with the Belkin. After installing the program on the PC, from the flash drive, I get an Internet DNS Access Trouble error, because there is not a connection. Can you please tell me what my next step should be, or if there is a way around this?

I would just set your dns to open dns or google dns. You can run the tool on your machine once a better connection is established.

Thank you for the reply. I am slighlty confused. While following the change the DNS settings, I went to the wireless connection properties>internet protocol version 4(TCP/IPv4) properties, and changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8. I am not able to get online, but when I click on FF, I am brought to the google homepage, instead of an error page. However, I am not able to search. Can you please explain what I may have done wrong?

Edit- Do I need to find the tunnel adapters, and do anything with MS Fixit? I downloaded, and ran the program, and after being instructed to restart, I cannot find it.

Ok, perhaps we need to put the dns settings on the back burner for now. Re-open the part where you change dns and tick the obtain dns settings automatically. Then carry out the instructions for fixing the master browser error. I think that we will need to set a static ip. I will show you how to do that once you have completed the master browser fix.

Okay, I have followed the instructions, and ran the commands. The PC is currently rebooting.

The PC has booted, and I am back online. Is there anything else that needs to be done. Also, in the past, I would be able to get online, but after a short time, the connection would drop. Thank you very much for continuing to help. I really appreciate this.
