[perna]

I had a trojan and my computer hasnt been right since. Programs keep trying to access the internet, and I dont know what they are. Then new ones do the same thing a couple days later. IE pops in and out, closes on its own, I get all kinds of pop ups. Short cuts to casinos keep adding to my desktop. I have tried everything I can it is still happening. Here is my log:

Excal, I want to thank you for the help your giving me, I really appreciate it.
Windows CleanUp deleted over 61k files and freed up 1.43 gigs.
While panda active scan was running coi.exe was popping up on spybot for a registry change, was I supposed to deny it because I did and now it is blacklisted. It pops up about every couple mins saying it was denied.

I hope I did things correctly.

Download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.
Save it to your desktop, but please don't run it yet.

While TeaTimer is an excellent tool for the prevention of spyware, it can sometimes prevent HijackThis from fixing certain things.
Please disable TeaTimer for now until you are clean. TeaTimer can be re-activated once your HijackThis log is clean.

• Open Spybot Search & Destroy.
• In the Mode menu click "Advanced mode" if not already selected.
• Choose "Yes" at the Warning prompt.
• Expand the "Tools" menu.
• Click "Resident".
• Uncheck the "Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of overall system settings) active." box.
• In the File menu click "Exit" to exit Spybot Search & Destroy

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

1. Click this link to be sure you can view hidden files.

2. Right-Click HERE and Save As to download DelDomains.inf to your desktop.
To use: RIGHT-CLICK DelDomains.inf on your desktop and select: Install (no need to restart)
Note: This will remove all entries in the "Trusted Zone" and "Ranges" also.

3. Ensure you are NOT connected to the internet.

4. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

5. Close all browsers, windows and unneeded programs.

6. Open HiJack and do a scan.

7. Put a Check next to the following items:

90% of those files found by KASPERSKY are either in Backups in Hijack or restore points infections from previous infection. This should clear up once we reset you restore points when we finish cleaning your system
You said "Most of your problems" , what else is happening on your system?


1. Close all browsers, windows and unneeded programs.

2. Open HiJack and do a scan.

3. Put a Check next to the following items:

O2 - BHO: WinStat - {EE02B99B-1D55-48bc-B8DB-649A42CE45F6} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat12.dll (file missing)

4. click the Fix Checked box

5. Reboot

6. Reboot into normal mode and please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan - Save the results from the scan!

7. Please post an Active scan log and a fresh HiJackThis log. Let me know how your computer is running.

I thought the stuff from Kaspersky were active viruses, that was why I though things were still bad. All the problems I was having before have stopped. Can I activate teatime or should I leave it off still?

If you are unhappy with your current antivirus and want to replace it or if you dont already have one, I suggest one of these free programs:
*Note - do not use more than one anti-virus program as it will more than likely cause conflict.

A Firewall is a must! Here are 2 good free versions:

There are other options other than Internet Explorer for a browser, which some say have better security. Two of them are:

Firefox

Opera

This site is a great source for tightening up security on Internet Explorer settings.

Make sure that you keep your Operating System and IE updated with the latest Critical Security Updates from Microsoft...they usually come out once a month, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

Be sure and give the Temp folders a cleaning out now and then as well, Make sure after you clean your Temp files to empty out your Recycle bin as well.
For ease use the following program:

Cleanup
Run "Cleanup" and when it has finished, Reboot
