greenish yellow windows appearance

dell inspiron 1525

vista ultimat sp2

 

woke up to a green and yellow windows.

when i shut it down i see what it is supposed to look like but when it up and running it all shady and greenish yellow.

running spybot and panda scans now.

i took a quick look in control panel but could not fix the appearance

any advice

Sounds like a fault in your graphics chip to me, bad news for a laptop.

makes sense the screen use to blink on and off too, a few day before the change.

if i were to try to salvage the rest of the lap top, whats a fair price for a up grade graphics wise.

after parts and laboure.

the lap top is 2007 give or take i think lol

Laptops are virtually impossible to work on let alone upgrade. Being 7 years old it might be worth you to replace it.

First try and upgrade the video driver. Enter the Dell service tag in to http://www.dell.com/...on-1525/drivers and get the latest driver.

re installed my o/s again screen is fixed for now.

Glad you got it fixed, but did you try and upgrade the driver first?

yes i checked out the site. i think the i already had the top they had to offer.
