However I am still concerned about the issues visible in your log, that are not malware related. They are related mostly to OS itself, a little hardware and BIOS. I had a speech about that with a colleague and it looks like I said earlier - some very invasive procedures are required to eliminate those errors. Please start a new topic in the Windows 7 section, and I kindly inform Phill that you're heading his way. After starting it, we will discuss them and try to help you further.

Thanks Naat

Hi :)

Things I've noted here are related especially to those errors:

Error: (01/14/2015 04:04:53 PM) (Source: volmgr) (EventID: 46) (User: )
Description: Crash dump initialization failed!

Error: (01/14/2015 04:04:40 PM) (Source: sptd) (EventID: 4) (User: )
Description: Driver detected an internal error in its data structures for .

Error - 12/01/2015 10:37:29 PM | Computer Name = Owner-PC | Source = Microsoft-Windows-HAL | ID = 12
Description = The platform firmware has corrupted memory across the previous system
power transition. Please check for updated firmware for your system.

HAL is Hardware Abstraction Layer. This is probably related to some BIOS damage. I'm calling Phill to the rescue :)

Thanks very much Naat, I'm not an 'aware' person, and usually just follow things that interest me on the web,

Unfortunately the url that you have post is not for your Speccy report, click on the link and you will note the time and date + the results appear to be in Spanish, date = Generated by Piriform Speccy v1.07.205

You are welcome btw  :)

Thats the one thanks  :thumbsup:

Nothing glaringly obvious in the Speccy report and the two main suspects (the HDD free storage space and output from the PSU)  are both shown to be fine.

One software entry that I noted was BitComet Disk Boost Service, can I ask if this is the one that is used for speeding up the downloading of torrents.

You are welcome btw  :)

Sorry, but I don't recall that, though it's quite possible - I certainly didn't d/l  it on the purpose, but I do use bitcomet from time to time and have done for a couple or more years.

Couple of things for you to do but some clarification is needed first;

Sorry, but I don't recall that, though it's quite possible - I certainly didn't d/l  it on the purpose, but I do use bitcomet from time to time and have done for a couple or more years.

Sorry but I am a bit confused by the above  :headscratch:

Are you saying that you don't know how BitComet came to be on your machine but that you use it - if yes to both, what do you use it for.

Tip

If you have something to add while waiting for a reply use the edit tab – bottom right of the dialogue input box and this will ensure that no information that you provide is overlooked (this can happen if your topic has more than one page)

:laughing: No, I knew that I'd downloaded BitComet, but not that other bit (the disk boost service) sorry if that confused you - I use it to d/l idol/x-factor/got talent programs if I miss them - I belong to a international Idolforum and we post comments on the contestants (and the judges lolz) giving our ratings on individual performances and acts, and predicting who will win .... since my retirement 14 years ago, it's been one of my interests, though now with youtube becoming more prominent and forthcoming, the bitcomet  rarely gets used lol and with only 50gig download allowance per month, youtube is much better and it doesn't use any disk space.

Thank you for the tip, I'll try and remember that.

Understand now  :thumbsup:

Next thing to do is confirm as best we can that your PSU is stable;

Download Speedfan and install it.  Once it's installed, run the program and post here the information it shows.  The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.

If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.

 (this is a screenshot from a vista machine)

Download then run HWMonitor and post a screenshot so that we have a comparison to the Speedfan results, details from here

To capture and post a screenshot;

Click on the ALT key + PRT SCR key..its on the top row..right hand side..now click on start...all programs...accessories...paint....left click in the white area ...press CTRL + V...click on file...click on save...save it to your desktop...name it something related to the screen your capturing... BE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A .JPG ...otherwise it may be to big to upload... then after typing in any response you have... click on browse...desktop...find the screenshot..select it and click on the upload button...then on the lower left...after it says upload successful...click on add reply like you normally would.

Screenshot instructions are provided to assist those that may read this topic but are not yet aware of the “how to”.
