Hey,
first I want to mention that I have maybe around 450$ budget.

I like to upgrade my CPU and Mainboard. It would be nice if some one could recommend some processors (I prefer Intel Core I7 or Xeon) for my budget.

Current System:

- AMD FX 8320
- ASUS M5A97 EVO R 2.0
- NVIDEA GTX 770
- 8 GB DDR 3 RAM 1600 MHZ
- 256 GB SSD + 1000 GB HDD

I realize that my gaming experience isn't the best due to my processors because many Games don't support 8 cores.

Thanks!

(Sorry, it is German)

Just a difference of 20 €.

Is the 4790K much better than 4790?

not really, the k means it has an unlocked multiplier, so unless your going to overclock then the 4790 will do you just fine.

of course i'd get the 4790k tho. :D

As terry said above the locked version is fine unless you wish to OC the processor, I don't OC so for me it would come down to any price difference between the two.

Benchmark results for the two CPUs here the k version comes out on top + you will note that a lot more samples of the k version have been tested.

I'm going to buy the I7 4790K next week ... the Asrock Z97X seems to be the best Mainboard for me.

Thanks!

(I hope the FPS at Arma 3 will improve with my "new" system)

OK, upgraded my system now. Everything runs fine. :)

Thank you so much!

EDIT:

Your system will make cannon fodder of Arma 3 btw  xwink.png.pagespeed.ic.HJgPQ3U3SA_oBmP6G

That's sadly not completely true. Sometimes I get 30 FPS on Multiplayer and Singleplayer on Ultra. I'm sure this is caused by the bad optimized game.

I think I was too early happy. :( Two times BSOD due to this error: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

I researched it and reset my UEFI Settings (in case the CPU Voltages were set wrong - but I never set any CPU Voltages)

I'm running some CPU Benchmark tests and will see if the error will come back.

could be a number of things including a bad driver or psu problem, assume your running windows 8.1. see if this helps you in some way :-  http://wind8apps.com...or-windows-8-1/
