Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro and the magsafe cord had been tripped over one to many times and the ground became disconnected. I opened up the wire and I had just placed the wire on the ground ring. recently the MacBook will shut down as if it was just unplugged (btw I dont have a battery). I am going to get a new charger of course, but i also want to know if this is a problem cause by the cord's ground or if it is actually something with the laptop. Thank you.

could be either a problem with the laptop's charging circuit or the cord/charger. I'd wait to see what getting a new cord does as that's obviously the easiest thing to check

Hi, thank you for replying, sorry about the long delay, I have been very busy with my school work. I found out that the charger was the problem. I never got a new cord, but I hold the ground wire down and in place with tweezers and the laptop has stopped shutting down on me. Thank you for taking the time to reply to this post.
