A few weeks ago, I started having a few popups, which shouldn't be happening since I have Adblock. I've cleaned the computer several times with AVG and eusing. Got rid of 3 viruses. Still the ads kept coming and increasing in frequency. Figuring that maybe there was a virus embedded in my chrome, I deleted it and redownloaded it. On the necessary reboot, it went through the HP page, then my sign in page, and then...nothing! Just a dark blue screen! There is a DLL error box, but that can't be fixed until I can get back onto Windows. There's no way to restart in safe mode, as that is a settings button in Windows 8 itself (instead of the traditional hold F8. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Chrome somehow messed up my Windows 8.1 (I think) [Closed]

Hi skisan83.
Welcome to Geeks to Go
You mention you can get to the sign in screen.
Before actually signing in, could you hold shift and click restart and when the next menu comes up, select Troubleshoot.
Then Select Advanced Options
In the advanced screen, select system restore and select a recent restore point before you had this trouble and we can continue from there.
Any problems, let me know.
