Now I'm fairly savy in finding answers online and following directions, but I am no tech expert.
I recently lost administrative authority on my single user account. It was read and write only, or something along those lines. I haven't used my laptop for a couple weeks and am hit with this problem out of the blue... (I did download using BitTorrent a month ago, but no antivirus(windows defender, norton, etc) found anything... I always keep a keen eye on applications, processes and services running, but am not sure, being a few weeks since I've looked, if any of the services running are new.... Well, I did delete the files I downloaded (hacked skyrim expansion which ran great!) and will not d/l again... Anyways, I'm hoping for a fix without a complete wipe.
After digging online, I figured out how to access the hidden administrator and still could not touch admin-level/permission files, such as deleted my old user account or creating a new one... But I can access the admin-level "services" button that use to have the admin-lvl little shield next to it. I still haven't been able to access anything else with the shield next to it even though I should have full access!!! And yes, I tried right clicking. It does not do anything...
Is there a command promp something... Or anything!
This Iraq war veteran will be eternally grateful for any help (and so will my laptop which also happened to make it through the Iraq war!)
Included are photos showing my full permission as hidden admin, the services button I speak of that has no shield currently, and another possibly useful photo. Anything else, including logs, if given directions , Can be posted as well.
You tech guys are heroes amongst poor under-educated men!
Ps. From now on, I'll be taking snapshots instead of terribad photos from my phone.
