trying to install printer + other stuff

hi geeks,
am trying to install a new printer and keep gettign error message above within a windows box saying --- ''16 bit windows subsystem error'' ----- '' c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for runnign MS-DOS and MS windows applications'' choose close to terminate the program?

please advise me on this problem

What is the brand of printer??
Did you have a printer installed before??
When does the error occur??

its a lexmark all in 1.. was installed b4 on same pc had to reinstall windows xp now get this problem.. getting it trying to remove soem other programs aswell

Did you do a full install or an "over the top" reinstall??
Did you use a manufacturers CD or a ms CD??
