Just was going to ask for some help cleaning up unused or unaware programs....

Hello, Joe-King.

Let's see what programs are installed on your computer and we'll go from there :)
  • Download MiniToolBox by Farbar and save it to your Desktop.
  • Double-click MiniToolBox.exe. The program window with a list should appear.
  • Check the box next to List Installed Programs and click GO.
  • After a moment, a Notepad should open. If it doesn't, you can find it on your Desktop as Result.txt.
  • Select all (CTRL+A) the content of the log copy it (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) it into your next reply.

From that list, the only thing that I can't find useful for a typical user is Jing, which looks like a program that can be used to capture and share your desktop as screenshot.

Now, these programs are somehow useful, but your system will work on it's own without them as well:
  • CCleaner
  • Defraggler
  • Respondus LockDown Browser (Note: this seems to be a browser that has educational purpose, so make sure that nobody who uses your computer needs it in case you want to get rid of it)
  • VLC media player 2.1.3
This actually looks pretty clean, so there's nothing to worry about.

(Jing, Ccleaner, Defraggler, Respondus Lockdown Browser)

                        Have been deleted.

 

VLC Media player was updated and is in working condition.

If you use these programs, then sure - just let them be.

About Respondus LockDown Browser, you can visit the official website to read about it.

From my point of view, it may be safely removed without any consequences.

Had major problems trying to delete Jing, and LockDown Browser..

Would start to uninstall them but would hang on creating System Restor point

If it hangs on creating system restore point, then there's a possibility that System Restore is either turned off or damaged.

Let's check that out.

Farbar Service Scanner
  • Download FSS.exe to your desktop.
  • Right click FSS.exe on your desktop and click Run as administrator.
  • Make sure that System Restore is checked and press Scan.
  • It will create a log (FSS.txt) on the Desktop.
  • Double click FSS.txt. Select all (CTRL+A) the content of the log, copy it (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V) it into your next reply

It seems like everything is alright with System Restore.

Could you describe what's exactly happening when you try to uninstall these programs? Does any window appear? How long do you wait after clicking "Uninstall"?

If i try to uninstall from Control panel and just uninstall a program it it just says uninstalling and would not go anywhere or do anything else. With using Revo Uninstaller it would start uninstalling and get to the first step out of 4 (Creating system Restore Point) and would not go any further than that.
