Hi and hello, it's been awhile since I've been here but I was hoping someone could help me.  I've been using Synovel Spicebird as my email program for 3 or 4 years and no problems, works great and I'm happy with it.  I know it's no longer supported but that hasn't been a problem.  Tonight I accidentally deleted it, dumb move.  I did a system restore and it shows on my program list but I go to open it and nothing happens.  Same thing when I click my desktop icon.  Other programs that I deleted came back and I can open them.  Is it gone forever?  Since this happened every time I log on I get this message "object reference not set to an instance of an object" right above it, it also says "Another instance is running"  Can anyone help me with this?  I'd love to get those emails back.  Thanks

It seems like the installation got corrupted by the system restore. Do you still have the original installer of the program? If so, you could simply reinstall it. Or if you try to uninstall the program, does it offers a Repair option?

I don't have the original installer and can't recall where I originally downloaded it from but I just tried to redownload it from Cnet and I kept getting a message that it crashed.  And there is no repair option on Uninstall?

Alright let's see, what version of Windows are you using? We can try to find the installer .msi of that program and use it to reinstall it, if possible.

BTW, after I downloaded MiniToolBox and got the log my whole computer froze.  I couldn't refresh this page or open a new browser.  Even when I tried to restart my computer I got a message that said the Taskhost was holding up all the other programs.  I went to my program list to see if MiniToolBox was there so I could delete it and couldn't find it.  How do I get rid of it?

UPDATE:  I restarted my computer and the freezing and delay problem is gone but I'm still getting the message when I first start up that "Another instance is running".  What's considered an "instance" and what's the connection to Spicebird?

If you get a message that another instance of Spicebird is running, it's most likely because a process associated with it is already open. You should go in your Task Manager, in the Process tab, then find that process and end it. Then try to start Spicebird.
