I would back them up to be sure to not lose them, however, HP offers you the option to keep your personal files (data) when you do a Factory Reset. The link below contains the instructions to follow to do a Factory Reset on a HP computer with Windows 7. How much Gb of files do you have to back up?

Do you have any external storage media? If not, the best would be to buy an external hard drive. Like a 320GB one.

yes I know but I don't have money right now, I guess I have to wait  to buy a external hard drive :upset:

The thing is that if your hard drive is big enough, you could try creating a partition on where to store your files, however I'm pretty sure that the Factory Reset will reformat and repartition your hard drive, deleting everything on it.
