create different sized tables within excel spreadsheet

I don't know if this can be done...trying to recreate a word document that has different sized tables in it...but want all info in excel so I can make calculations using the data in the tables (instead of manual calculation in Word doc)


Or if calculations can be done in Word that would make life easier


Any advice would be gratefully rec'd :-)
