Hi,

I am looking to get advice to find following:

1) A very compact cheap bluetooth receiver (only bluetooth data receiver no need to receive audio).

I understand that there tonnes of such receivers in market but I want only data receiver so I don't want to spend more on bluetooth audio receivers.

Can some one please let me know smallest cheapest bluetooth data receiver chip/IC in the market?

2) A minute-small vibrator which can be connected to the above bluetooth receiver - cheapest. Also, cheapest smallest power unit to power the vibrator circuit - may be coin cell...

Idea is, on sending command from any bluetooth  transmitter, the above bluetooth receiver will receive the command and ask vibrator to vibrate.

there are several "hack" style projects on the internet to accomplish this task http://makezine.com/...cts/vibracelet/ such as this project. I will suggest that you don't google "Bluetooth vibrator" unless you're prepared for the results (though, hacking one of those devices would also be fairly easy and accomplish the same task). this is likely something you're going to have to build yourself.

the thing i'd do is find a good electronics shop near where you live and pop in and talk to them.

a vibrator is nothing more than an imbalanced spinning motor or linear actuator usually.

eg. :- http://www.precision...ibration-motors

bluetooth is a data connection type,

what that data is makes no difference so there is no such thing as a bluetooth audio receiver and a bluetooth data receiver, they are both the same thing.

the only difference is if it is a receiver only or transmitter only or even both in one device called a transceiver (usual and what you really need.).

that bracelet project dsenette linked to tho sounds perfect for what your wanting to do.

Thanks - I read vibracelet article - as far as functionality is concerned I have ditto requirement but I need something very compact.

Some thing like mota smart ring guys have - http://www.theguardi...-messages#img-2

There are quite a few flashy smart rings and they can do heaps of stuffs (and very expensive) - I am only limiting to bluetooth vibration.

I want to design it for blind people so just buying it from big companies and paying so much is a big no...
