Hi I am making a PC for me mam and I want to source the parts as cheap as possible and brand new.

Here's the rig I come up with below, it needs to be powerful as she wants to do graphics, video editing on it as well as she wants a flight simulator, Oh and she wants to watch TV on it.

I estimated it would cost around £1000 UK pounds but I don't have that much money as I'm poor, please save your tears. I want to spend around £700 max and don't really want to skimp on parts as I'm not gonna be around to help her soon and want to future proof it so it lasts her as long as possible.

Can I ask whether or not you checked the prices of any of the parts that you have list above as you will not get anywhere near the above spec build for £700 I`m afraid 

 

An 8 core AMD build will not cost as much as an i7 Intel rig but the cost will still exceed £700.

 

An i7 example build minus the monitor, keyboard and TV out card here

Hello Phillpower2 and thank you for your time taken in making that parts list, really appreciated. Yes I did check the parts and it came to around 1300 but would love to make it for less. I looked at AMD and I have had a few AMD PC's and to be honest they never last or perform as well as the same level Intel machines I have owned. I really wondered if anyone had any tips for place's to buy cheap parts, but real stuff not fake Chinese parts. Thank you very much Phill for your help I will have a look at that site now

Hello again Phillpower I was reading the processors info and some say ddr4 support is this the type I will have to use if I am using ddr4 memory?

 

This is what one processor says that I'm interested in

"Intel now making six core processor with hyperthreading now available, with a total of 12 threads, DDR4 support "

To use DDR4 Ram you would need an appropriate CPU and MB and to try and build a computer based on the spec of Ram is unwise, MB manufacturers provide a qualified vendors list (QVL) which lists both CPUs and Ram that have been tested and proven to be compatible with their board/s, atm only worry about DDR4 Ram if you select a new MB that is compatible with it and this only after selecting a compatible CPU first.

 

If you are set on using DDR4 Ram be prepared to significantly break the budget, a quick bundle put together here
