Hi

I recently upgraded my pc to :

AMD64 4000
ASUS GeForce 6800GT
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200PT
K8NS Ultra-939

But since the upgrade i've had this annoying little problem, every so often the system hangs for a couple of seconds and the sound stutters. This only happens when i'm playing games or listening to music (either CD's or MP3's). I'm currently using the onboard sound card, could that be the problem? This problem is annoying when playing online games like EvE or Guild Wars.

Hi again,

I installed Easytune to watch the tempature of my pc and found that -

Idle - 38celsius to 41celsius

When playing EvE online for about 5mins it was up to around 65celsius?

What is the safe tempature for a AMD64 4000+

Thanks.

Yes, 65 deg C is getting a little hot and could well be the cause of your problems.
When you upgraded your equipment did you fit any extra fans ?
As a temporary measure try leaving the case open and use a household fan to blow some extra air into it.
If it runs OK like this then you need to upgrade your cooling fans.
