I have a Toshiba C55D-B5310 and I've been trying to upgrade the ram to 8gb.

 

The Toshiba website doesn't give any extensive information about memory compatibility and states that it is not user upgradable. However, this is false.

The original ram in the computer is one Samsung 4gb 1Rx8 PC3L-12800s-11-13-B4

 

I opened the laptop up already. There are two ram slots only one is used. I purchased a ram card yesterday but it had the wrong voltage.

 

I found a couple online that match the original specs but im not sure of the voltage (1.35 or 1.50) that's compatible with the pc or how i would find this out.

 

Can anyone please help with this issue.

i guess one of the easiest ways is to download and run a program like speccy :- https://www.piriform.com/speccy

 

in the results it will show you everything you need to know about the ram including it's voltages.

if you scroll down it you will see their ram is 1.5v
