Question for Essexboy

 

Hi :) .....You recommended I download CryptoPrevent.....which I did, but what setting do you recommend please - Basic, Default, Maximum Protection or Maximum Protection + Program Filtering (BETA) ?

Ok...

 

I do have it set on Default......but it was the "may not protect against newer ransomware threats" that was making me wonder whether I should increase it.

 

I will now look into EMET too.

This is where you need to apply a balance of protection against usability

The higher protections will mean you need to take extra steps when you install programmes, which for the average user may be a step to far
