Hello,

have a rather new Lenovo, but must have gotten a virus. There are lots of pop-ups and the computer freezes at times and there is one

site that keeps popping up and wants me to call them for help, which I won't do, but once that site has popped up, I can't do anything

with my computer any longer! I am writing this from a different computer.

What is my first step in resolving this issue?

Thanks ever so much, Judy

Hi Judy,

Can you follow the instructions posted here:
https://forums.malwa...es/#entry434003
I think that should bring your computer back to a state where you can at least work normally with it.
Let me know which complaints remain and we'll take it from there.

Hello Pieter,

we did as you suggested, but Malwarebytes did not find anything.

However, we googled 'Plumoweb" and found a site that does give instructions to remove this thing.

What do you think? Shall we proceed according to their suggestions?

Many thanks, Judy

Hi Judy,

AdwCleaner is safe to use. Just make sure you download it from here : https://toolslib.net...d/1-adwcleaner/

There have been false copies around that ask money to remove anything.

The real AdwCleaner will not do that.

Let me know if you need any help. And report back how it went.

Thanks Pieter.

but I have been doing this for my neighbor. She used the thing we found online and it worked.

Regardless, thanks heaps to everyone here in this great forum and you can close this thread now.

best, R (and on behalf of Judy)
