This morning I was on the web, surfing, when ater clicking on a link, I lost my browser. I then discovered a spybot program downloaded on my PC, it was SpySheriff. I unistalled it and the fun began.............windows popping up everywhere from my antivirus software trying to scan emails I wasn't sending.

I can't get anything to work on scanning or viruses, no spybot, adaware and CSshredder says I have a virus. I downloaded hijackthis, but am unable to save a log. I get an error and the program shuts down. I can't go anywhere using my browser except to where they (virus) direct me, which is clicksearchclick.com.

I'm on my old PC, dialup, just so I can post here, as it won't even allow me to click on links on this forum, etc.

So, how do I save a log, if the program shuts down? I did do screen shots and managed to save them as images. I could upload the images to my server and maybe someone could look at them. I hate not knowing how to fix things and have noone local to help me with this.

Any and all help is appreciated. Can someone advise me on how to proceed?

thank you

I am new to all this. Would someone please post a brief explanation of exactly what "Spysheriff" is and what it is intended to accomplish. I inadvertently allowed my Norton Antivirus to expire and the Sheriff has absolutely taken over my computer. Is there a way a novice user can remove this program? Thank you. John W. ;) :tazz: :tazz: ;) ;) :)
