Hi,

When we use the Global PCL print drivers of HP and Xerox, some of our printers are printing a flood of papers with all weird characters above. This happens when we print from the client pc. When we change the drivers to the specified driver of the printer type the problem occurs less or even not. Any idea why this happens? The printserver is Windows 2008 R2 and the clients are all Windows 7 x32 or x64 Professional. We install additional drivers for x32 and x64.

Thanks for the help.

vellemanit,

The wrong driver – perhaps mismatched with your printer, too new or old for your operating system, or a PostScript driver for non-PostScript hardware – can cause a seemingly endless list of headaches (including crazy output letters/symbols).  So when matched to a more specific driver (particular brand), the output is going to be more accurate/coherent.
