So i have a custom built PC running windows 7 (full specs from DxDiag attached) And i have had it about 3 years.
The key specs are:
- Windows 7 Hom Premium 64-bit
- Gigabyte Motherboard - M68MT-S2
- AMD FX - 4170 Quad-Core Processor (overclocked to 4.2GHz when i got it)
- 8192MB of DDR3 RAM
- AMD Radeon HD 6670 Graphics Card
- 2TB HDD (347 GB free)
During the past few months It has been crashing more and more often for apparently no reason! At first I thought, since the winter had kicked it, my house would be warmer, because our radiator are set higher, so i moved the pc away from any radiators, but the crashes persisted. They don't crash to blue screen, Just straight to black, as if the pc was just turning off. And sometimes when i try and turn the pc back on again after a crash, it will load for 3 secs, then crash instantly 3 or four times before it completes it's boot.
This happens most often when I am running a video game or using a LOT of programs at once, I can hear the fan speed up and then BAM, computer has dies.
I have tried Anti-virus software, but it never comes up with anything, and if it does it gets rid of it very quickly and the problems persist.
The only thing i can think of is maybe the computer is getting old? But i think my hardware should still hold up fine shouldn't it? Before the crashes started I was running my games on full graphics well and could photo edit very large files with no problem.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks a lot
