Im trying to build myself a computer and don't really know where to start if anyone could help that would be great. Trying to build a computer to do gaming on  and wanted to spend around 800$.

In which country will you purchase parts?

What games do you want to play?

What monitor are you going to use? brand and model please.

Do you have an existing computer? some parts could be used in a new build, that's providing you won't use it any more.

The United States is where i would be buying parts at. I was planing on playing games like eve online, minecraft, war thunder and maybe a few others. Not sure what monitor to use, thought id focus on the computer itself first. I don't have any computer to take parts from. I am trying to use this building experience to try and help me learn more about computers. I would also like to start learning how to program on this computer if that will affect the build at all i'm not sure. Kinda why i am asking questions here.

i herd alienware is good. whats the difference between the build you set up then an alienware build.

Alienware, is an overpriced division of Dell. The components that were selected fort you on pcpartpicker are better parts that you will get with an Aleinware PC which will have a dell/alienware proprietary motherboard. It would be far cheaper and a likely better option to just get a Dell XPS 8700 with a I7 4690 and add a GTX 960 then paying the extra cost that Alienware (Dell) charges just to have their name on it. Even so the parts linked for you are a better option than a Dell XPS 8700 or Alienware, and some of the components will carry 3 year / 5 year / and lifetime warranties which beats the pants off of a standard 1 year total system warranty. Better motherboard, better processor if you pick he "k" variant, and has room for overclocking down the road with a good aftermarket heat sink fan.
