Hi, Ive been getting some help with my computer from the malware removal forum, but Ruggie_UK has now recomended me to come here for more help.

http://www.geekstogo...pages-properly/

Originally my problem was being unable to load many internet pages and not being able finish any downloads, as well as regular image errors.

I can now use the internet normally, but I still see lots of images loaded wrong:

http://www.geekstogo...pages-properly/

All videos I have tried to watch from the internet (Firefox) whether it is on Facebook, Vimeo, Steam or Youtube all stop after a few seconds of playback.

I can watch videos from my harddrive with no problems and also brouse my pictures without seeing any errors.

This is an error report Firefox gave me after it crashed while trying to watch a video

Nothing glaring there but two things that I would suggest that you try, uninstall Avast and use Windows Defender and Windows Firewall (See canned text below).

Are you aware that Windows 8 and 8.1 both have an updated version of Windows Defender that offers the same real time protection as Microsoft Security Essentials, you do not need third party AV protection and by not installing any you are reducing the possibility of potential conflicts and freeing up resources on your computer, information courtesy of admin here

Disable IE11, Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Put a tick in the IE11 checkbox > Click OK > Restart the computer and test.

See if there are any crash dumps;

1. Copy any dmp files from C:\Windows\Minidump onto the desktop.
2. Select all of them, right-click on one, and click on Send To> New Compressed (zipped) Folder.
3. Upload the zip folder using the Attach button, bottom left of the dialogue input box

OK I have removed Avast and disabled IE, this seems to have fixed the problem. I havnt seen any image errors yet, and I have tried watching lots of videos without problems :)

I dont have a minidump folder in c:windows

I will keep monitoring it for the next few days.

Thank you for your help

Thanks for the update dobby200  :thumbsup:

As the computer appears to be stable I would suggest that you make sure that you have a system restore point for the present settings;

To create a restore point

  1. Open System by clicking the Start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33_818, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.

  2. In the left pane, click System protection18abb370-ac1e-4b6b-b663-e028a75bf05b_48. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  3. Click the System Protection tab, and then click Create.

  4. In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click Create.

You are welcome btw  :)

dobby200,

Glad to hear the issue(s) seem to have been resolved!  I'm sure you guys may think I'm Captain Obvious for saying this, but please make absolute sure that you've enabled Windows Defender after having uninstalled Avast.  Good luck and take care!  :prop:

Ditto, glad to hear that all is well and thank you for the follow up dobby200  :thumbsup:

Valid point raised by Fusionbomb but worth mentioning is that once Avast had been uninstalled Defender should have enabled by default, to check that it has only requires you to click on the Security tab in the Control Panel or click on the Action Center flag on the taskbar.

You are most welcome btw  :)
