I have a Netgear wireless card on my PC that is connected to the internet via a Netgear wireless router and I am having trouble connecting to the internet.

The wireless card is recognizing the router with good strength but whenever I attempt to go to a website it doesnt connect.

I contacted Netgear technical support who tried to help me out but it doesnt seem to be an issue with either the card or the router.

I can ping to the router but other than that I get nothing. It was working perfectly fine until I downloaded a P2P software that might have affected some setting on my computer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Try turning off your pc and while it's shutdown unplug the power from your modem, not the router, just the modem. Wait a few minutes and then plug it back in. When the lights on it are done flashing and jumping around then turn the pc back on. Does this work?
