After some deliberation I've gone with the Phanteks Enthoo Pro. I like its upgradeability, its clearance, and how 140mm fans can be used everywhere for some hopefully quieter cooling. I shouldn't have to buy a case again for a long, long time!

So far we have:-

Windows 8.1

Intel i5-2500k (3.3 not O/Cd)

8GB DDR3 1600MHz

ASUS P8Z77-V LK

Gigabyte R9 270

1TB HDD

Panteks Enthoo Pro

As the system runs Rome 2 on max settings with absolutely no lag I won't be needing a water cooler of any sort quite yet either :)

Everything up and running with no hitches so far!

Current specs:

Windows 8.1

Intel i5-2500k (3.3 not O/Cd)

Arctic freezer 13

8GB DDR3 1600MHz hyper X

ASUS P8Z77-V LK + correct I/O shield

Gigabyte R9 270

Sandisk 128GB

2TB HDD

Evga supernova 750W PSU

Phanteks Enthoo Pro (Front and rear pre-installed fans only)

Perifs

Unless there's a further upgrade that anyone could suggest which could really provide some benefit, I will mark this topic as solved, with many thanks to the forum :)

I am indeed! Extremely happy with it so far and have had no problems to speak of, it's a beaut. The completionist side of me wants to add a triple fan CPU watercooler to the top of the case - just because it could go there. This would however be ridiculouly over-kill not to mention expensive, so I think I'm going to supress that urge!

Thank you both so much for all of your help :)

Dan

Great to hear you are happy with the performance.   Providing your temps are within specs, water cooling would be over the top, better, I think, to enhance the case cooling, and as prices fall, consider a G-sync monitor, or dual screens.

You are welcome, been a pleasure to help

Good luck for the future.

Hi there,

The temps look pretty acceptable to me but I've included a pic:

HWM temps.PNG

What do you think? There's no reason not to add a second 140mm fan so I could do that.

I hadn't heard of those G-sync monitors before, they look like a great breakthrough! As you say though, I'll wait til prices fall.

Thanks for the update.

Yes, all looks very good, temps are good seeing you are at GPU usage of 99%.   I do't think another case fan would have much effect unless you start overclocking.

Excellent, I am going to leave the build as it is for now, athough overclocking is something I plan to do in the future. Cheers for all your advice, until the next upgrade :)

Best wishes,

Dan
