First off, I'm sorry if I am posting in the wrong area.  So feel free to move if need be.

 

I have Win 7 and have some movies I want to transfer to my external hard drive.  However, I get an error saying the file is too large for the destination folder.  Weird, because I have a 250GB and at LEAST 100GB are free.  What gives and is there a way around this?  Thanks!

What is the exact error message that you get? It might be due to the file system you're trying to move the files to: if its FAT32 (an external hard drive probably is), then the maximum file size is 2 GB. A full length HD movie could easily be more than this.

 

Oh, and you presumably downloaded these movies without paying for them; this is illegal, and helping with related problems is against the Terms of Use of this forum.

Your external harddrives are probably in Fat 32 format, these drive have a bit over 4Gigs maximum file size. If you need to tranfer larger files you will nee to format the drives in NTFS format.
