I have an HP HPE170t tower (win 7 pro 64) with 12Gb ram in it right now. The mobo is a MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E). It is currently configured with 2x4gb +2x2gb to get a total of 12gb RAM from the factory.
Here are the mobo specs from HP:

Here are the factory configurable ram options from HP:
-
6 GB (3 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600
-
8 GB (4 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600
-
12 GB (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 2 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600 <---This is what I have right now.
-
16 GB (4 x 4 GB) DDR3 PC3-10600
I have an extra stick of 4gb DDR3 (Samsung 1Rx8 PC3-12800U-11-13-A1) that I'd like to use to give me a slight bump to 14gb if possible. Will this work? The config would be 3x4gb + 1x2gb. Which slot should have the 2gb stick? The particular part number on my spare 4gb stick is M378B5173DB0-CK0
Thanks for your input!
