List of cases I am looking at if anyone is interested in weighing in.  I like the idea of big window in the side panel and want to put some blue LED and/or fans in it.

Thanks for the update.

Yep, the MSI GTX 970 was the way to go, look forward to your views on the performance.

Just saw your last post, will reply this evening.

Apologies for the late reply, I suspect you will have decided on the case by now.

They are all very good, but the Phantek Enthoo would have been my choice as I think it the best for future upgrade hardware and fan installation.

How is the gaming performance now?

The gaming performance is great!! Right now I am not playing much to push the system, but will be trying out the Witcher 3 soon, came along with card.  I have played Starcraft II and Diablo 3 with maxed settings with not a hiccup, as well as vanilla Skyrim and even with the older CPU (X4 945) it is running it on Ultra with 60 FPS.  The CPU usage is averages around 60% in each core and the GPU is at 35-45%.  So none of these games are really pushing it.  Looking forward to getting some mods for Skyrim though.

One major issue I have had since installing the card is that my display will not kick back on after coming out of sleep mode.  I have no idea what to do to fix this.  I have updated all drivers and looked at power settings.  My sleep mode is set for S1, and I looked at BIOS settings, but have no idea if something needs to be changed there or what.  The GPU seems to remain on when in sleep mode as the MSI LED on the card remains lit.  When I try to wake the pc I hear the fans fire up and the power light on the front comes on steady etc.  No Idea What to do.  So for now I am just turning my pc on and off each time I use it to save power.  Any suggestions would be very helpful as I have been unsuccessful in my google searching trouble shooting so far.

Could enabling the BIOS setting under APM Resume Event Configuration -     Resume on PCIE Wake#

This is currently disabled with all other settings in this category.  No clue what it does/is.

Some actual game benchmarking software you can try for fun. > http://www.pcgamer.c...enchmark-my-pc/

I Have not seen  Resume on PCIE Wake#, so can't help there.

Some info about sleep states, troubleshooting at the bottom, > http://www.pearsonit...24310&seqNum=21

Try Hibernating rather than sleep. This old rig, no SSD, is ready to go in 34 seconds.

Downloaded 3dMark Firestrike test.  My graphics score was 11739, physics 4311 and combined 3113.  So the CPU is obviously the big limiting factor.  Still have not got a new case, but leaning toward the Phantek Enthoo.  Then will begin to upgrade the rest, MoBo and CPU first, but if needed will just do the whole thing if needed.

Additionally, I switched to hibernate which does work.  The wait is no big deal and the energy savings will be nice!!

I like hibernate as I often have Chrome running with heaps of tabs open.

Contact  Locla, a completed upgrade build using the Phanteks Enthoo Pro > http://www.geekstogo...-2#entry2500553
