Please help changing new mail notification

guys i have windows 8.1 pro and outlook 2010.. i have been trying to change the new mail notification to windows notify.wav but every time i do it, it saves and works in Sounds but when i open outlook and get new mail it still uses the original mail notification not windows notify.wav.. please help its very frustrating
