Hello! I got a troublesome virus on my Window 8, HP Pavilion M4-1017TX, called CrypVault. OMG, it encrypted all my files, so I cannot get them back, It asked me to register kind of key for decryption. Is that true? My antivirus cannot help either. I followed a VilmaTech guide: http://blog.vilmatec...-decrypt-files/to boot into Safe Mode with Networking. But I have no idea how to continue. Is the guide helpful? Any suggestion? Help me,please! Thanks in advance!

Hello Jimmy Henry,

Welcome to Geekstogo.

Sorry for the delay in getting to you.

I am assuming you can bootup the machine okay. That is either normally or to Safe mode. If you can't please tell me and we will take another approach.  :)

Important - We ask that the tools we use be downloaded to your computers desktop.

If you are unsure about how to do that, please press the Show button beside Spoiler below to see guides for the most popular browsers:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool from here and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button.
  • It will produce a log called (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run from.
  • Please copy and paste log back here.
  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please also paste that into your reply.
