My fiber optic internet access was activated today with my internet provider so I went and bought a Lynksis XAC1200 router and plugged it in and followed the set up instructions. It seems to be picking up and connecting to the wireless user name but there is still no internet access. It works fine when I plug an ethernet cable directly from the laptop in to the router but the wifi aspect does not.
Someone please help me connect to the internet via Linksys XAC1200 rou

Hello Mckeezy... and
I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty getting your wifi to work. Let me ask you a few questions to help us begin to troubleshoot the issue.
1) What brand/model laptop?
2) What OS are you running?
3) Assuming you're running Windows 7, I would like for you to Open Network and Sharing Center by right clicking the computer icon at the bottom right of your task bar. Now, if you're not connected to the Internet, there should be a red X on the line at the top (not the X that closes the window, lol) where you'll notice your computer on the left, and the world icon (Internet) on the right. Click on the X and it will begin an automated troubleshooter. Please let us know the error(s) it gives you and/or upload a screenshot of the results.

Mckeezy,
It has been a while since I've heard from you, could you please update us on what's going on?
