I need assistance on disabling write protect on a Samsung Chromebook 2 (model XE500C12-K01US). I want to ultimately run Ubuntu on my Chromebook.  in order to that i have to enable USB boot and i cat do that unless I disable write-protect. I've removed the screw and metal-ish ring.

However it still says i have a read-only file-system. I understand there are a couple commands that go along with it. I know of

crossystem dev_usb_boot=1

&

crossystem dev_legacy_boot=1

&

enable dev_usb_boot

I have run all of these as root.
