Im trying to upgrade my computers processor from a AMD A4-6300 APU, to a FX-8350 or something of that level however I have no idea if it would be compatible with my motherboard.

My motherboards specs are as follows:

Model: A58M-E

Chipset: AMD (K15IMC)

Southbridge: AMD (A58 FCH)

If there is additional info about my motherboard that you need tell me what and how I can obtain that information, and if the FX-8350 processor is incompatible can you please suggest an AMD processor of similar quality that would be compatible with my motherboard thank you.

Is this a Pre-Built computer? I know sometimes manufactors like Dell and HP actually soder your CPU in the socket, making it un-upgradable.

this is your motherboard :- http://www.asus.com/...erboards/A58ME/

these are the cpu's you can install :- http://www.asus.com/...E/HelpDesk_CPU/

you need to go into your bios/uefi and check what version is used because you may need to update the uefi BEFORE installing some of the cpu's.

as to if you can install a fx-8350 then the answer is no i didn't see it in the supported cpu list so your probably going to need to buy a new motherboard like you've decided to do anyway.
