Absolutely nothing.  No response whatsoever.  I even restarted the computer and tried again....nothing.

OK. I was going to ask about restarting the computer. I'm moving the registry back to where we started..

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system

Do this fix like you did before and post the Fixlog.txt that ends up on the desktop.

Open notepad (Start =>All Programs => Accessories => Notepad).
Copy/Paste the contents of the code box below into Notepad.
LastRegBack: 2015-04-09 05:04
Click Format and ensure Wordwrap is unchecked.
Save as Fixlist.txt to your Desktop (Must be in this location)
Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needed a restart please make sure you let the system to restart normally and let the tool completes its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

That didn't work,

Can you try a system restore,

To restore your PC to an earlier point in time

1.Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.)

2.Enter Control Panel in the search box, and tap or click Control Panel.

3.Enter Recovery in the Control Panel search box, and then tap or click Recovery.

4. Tap or click Open System Restore, and then follow the instructions.

Let me know how that goes.

It wants to go back to the 15th prior to a critical update.  Does that sound ok? Wasn't sure if we were going back to sometime just prior to  what we've been doing.

Let it go back to the 15th, then see if you can download adwCleaner and run it.

Good morning Joe,

No luck.  After some time the Restore come back with this:

System Restore failed to replace the file C:\$Recycle.Bin\S-1-5-21-1298665756-2822785880-394653188-1001\$R4XICWM\.e with it's original copy from the restore point. An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070780)

You can try System Restore again and choose a different restore point.  If you continue to see the error, you can try an advanced recovery method.

At that point I went to bed.  What shall we do now?

Thanks,

Deb

FYI

Apparently I am unable to download anything.  My phone messages are sent to me by email and I have to download to listen to them.  They aren't getting through either.

I noticed when we ran FRST scan, it was unable to create a restore point.

Is that a new computer ?

I'm not sure.  With my luck probably just expired!

I've got plenty of coffee.  After babysitting this this last night I need it!
