Help with win7 configuration

Press on Win Key + R and enter services.msc then press on Enter. The services management console will open. In it, look for the Themes service, right-click on it and select Properties. Change it's... Go to the full post »

I wanted my win7 to boot faster so I did 2 things (probably mistakes):

I went to the services in task manager and switched to manual some of the services that looked unusefull.

I didn't touch anything of microsoft, intel, asus, avg.

Then I went to msconfig services and unmarked the adobe and google update and then 

to the msconfig startup and unmarked the ccleaner, google update, hp app and ms onenote. 

Now the win7 feels like its responding much faster to every click and every task but the view of my task toolbar and the folders 

has changed to some kind of an old view, I think that also the google chrome. 

Is there a chance that someone know what might be the problem?

You mean, the Windows XP design? If you want the Windows 7 theme (Aero), you have to use an Aero theme. Right-click on the Desktop and select Personalize, from there, select a theme under Aero. No idea if this is what you meant or if Ztruker got it right.

Hello Ztruker, can you please tell me where exactly do you mean to click Organize?

 

You mean, the Windows XP design? If you want the Windows 7 theme (Aero), you have to use an Aero theme. Right-click on the Desktop and select Personalize, from there, select a theme under Aero. No idea if this is what you meant or if Ztruker got it right.

Hey Aura, I checked the Personalize section but I can't select the Aero theme. Can it be because my Win7 is not genuine? Because I'm working with it for 2 years and it was ok all the time.

The "Windows isn't genuine" error doesn't have anything to do with it. If Aero is disabled, it's probably because your Windows Experience Index needs to be refreshed. Follow the tutorial below in order to proceed.

Click on the Windows Start Menu, then right-click on Computer and select Properties. From there, click on Advanced System Settings in the left pane and click on the first Settings button, under Performance. In the Visual Effect tab, do you see an option for Aero or not? Is it checked or not?

  • Execute MiniToolBox and check the following options:
    • List Installed Programs;
    • List Last 10 Event Viewer Errors;
    • List Devices - Only Problems;
    • List Users, Partitions and Memory size;
