It's really hard to say. It's possible that there is an issue with your disk drive or memory on the computer (both of which can be checked). But it's also possible that something just got corrupt from a power outage or something like that.

I can't speak for the legitimacy of any of these sites but I did a quick google search and found a couple potential ones that you could purchase if you decided to go that route. You would need to ensure that the DVD doesn't come with SP1 if you want to try a repair of your machine. Or you can contact Dell to see if you can get replacements. Let me know what you decide. Great! We want to do a repair install. Basically you put the DVD in and run Setup.exe. Choose Install Now and then Upgrade and let it go through. Please review all the instructions at the following link before we begin and ask any questions you may have. Let me know when you are ready.
