problem with video playback

below is a diagram of how much of a video i can see.
:tazz: = i cant see
:P = i can see
the video appears normal size filling the player but the actual video appears zoomed in. the players i have tried include, windows media player, real player, power dvd, interactual player. this happens when i play any video form my hard drive or dvd or any video (except those in games)

can any body help.
