I just received an old dell vostro, and I want to convert it into a gaming PC. I don't care about any information thats currently on the computer, I'm just trying to salvage as much as possible to make my PC. The current CPU and Motherboard are very dated, its an intel duo E6320. So I'm going to change the motherboard and CPU, with that I'll need to change the PSU too, and the RAM is old as well. I was wondering if I can keep the hard drives which are barracuda 7200? The DVD drive, and the fans? Also Maybe I can still use the RAM but I'm not sure.

:welcome: apriest2.

We need to know the Model of the computer, i.e. http://www.pcworld.c...vostro-200.html

The case is often not suitable, usually to small for an ATX PSU, poor airflow with no options to improve it.

Your RAM will not be usable with a modern build.

What is your budget?

In which country will you purchase parts?
