I updated malarebytes but dont have the items you asked me to tick. What to do?

It comes up with error now. I thought iy updated as it said the version date was today. I just tried to run again and it tries to update with error saying it is being used by another program

The only item to tick would be the rootkit scan which is found here: Settings > Detection and Protection > Scan for rootkits.

There is no box with scan for rootkicks to tick. everytime i try to run the program it starts to try to update and errors come up as stated above.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to your desktop
Install the progamme and select update
Once it has updated select Settings > Detection and Protection
Tick Scan for rootkits
Go back to the Dashboard and select Scan Now
If threats are detected, click the Apply Actions button, MBAM will ask for a reboot.
On completion of the scan (or after the reboot), start MBAM,
Click History, then Application Logs, then check the Select box by the first Scan Log in the list.
Click View, then click Export, select text file and save to the desktop as MBAM.txt and post in your next reply.

There is no log.txt file located in the C:\program files (x86)\ESET\ESET Online Scanner directory?
If not, did you see if it had picked anything up?
Most of the time ESET picks up the files already quarantined, but let's run one last scan with FRST to make sure everything is clear. If so, we'll
start updating your programs.
- Start Farbar's Recovery Scan Tool and press the Scan button.
- FRST will scan your system and produce one log this time. Please post it in your next reply.

Is it giving you a specific error message? Yes, download a new copy to the desktop.

I tried to redownload.. This is what it says "the app was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)

Let's get that CBS log that you were denied access to earlier and make sure that Norton and Kaspersky are completely removed from the machine.
Step 1: Retrieve CBS Log
- Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
- When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
- When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press enter
- copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt
- This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip/attach this to your next post.
Also, do you have Windows 7 Install Media on the machine, in case a repair installation is needed?
Step 2: Run Norton Removal Tool
Let's make sure that all of Norton was removed when it was uninstalled. Some times, they can leave remnants behind. Please follow the link below to find instructions on downloading the tool and running it.

I ran the command prompt as administrator and I copy and pasted it said access denied. I do not have any software for this machine as I purchased it used. Robert
