Hi all,

Win 7 x64, up-to-date-Skype, Realtek Audio.

I finally started using Skype with some friends lately, but I can't figure out how to fix the abominable echo in my own headset. It's so bad, I might as well be using Speech-Jammer, because I sound drunk from the distortion.

I've tried googling the problem and found zero help. Likewise the Skype troubleshooting.

"They" say if you hear an echo, it's the other side's problem, but I hear this with EVERYONE. If anyone knows how to fix this, please help me. I hate sounding like I drunk-dialed everyone I'm talking to.

Thanks.

Hello, open your device manager.

Uninstall all audio related drivers then reboot your machine.

Test the issue.

:) WOW, I don't know what that did, but the echo is gone.

I can't test it real-time with a a Skype-friend until this weekend, but I'm not hearing any echo whatsoever in the test phase. I'm hoping the echo is gone.

What the F**k.? Rebooting fixes the echo?

Why didn't everyone on google know this?

If this works, Thank You! :D

By they by, if I run into new echo-problems I will most definitely add to this thread.
