I may have been infected with this virus. I have done everything on your suggestions page, and my systemwill only boot up in selective startup mode.

The good news is I can still access the web and email, but can't get my windows me system to boot up in normal mode.

When I do start up the machine, everything appears to load up normally, except that I get this warning that looks like wallpaper. This is the warning:

A Fatal error has occurred at0028:C oo11E36 in VXD VMM(01)+00010E36. Error was caused by Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smithfraud.c

Also says: System does not function in normal mode,Please check your security settings. Scan your computer with any available antivirus/spyware remover program to fix the problem.

I have run adaware and I deleted everything it found. I ran Spybot, but it didn't see anything.

Is the virus gone? Why can't I boot up in normal mode?

Here is a copy of my hijack log.
