Whenever I click on the autoplay settings from the Windows 8 search bar, it says there is no program associated and won't open.  If I go via the control panel, the settings are still there, but the autoplay function of opening windows explorer with removable drives is no longer functioning.  When I plug in a removable drive, nothing opens automatically like it used to.

Thanks, but it didn't help because there seems to be something wrong with my computer suddenly and it won't autoplay anything or respond to any setting changes.

Try the following:

 Open a Elevated Command Prompt:

Press WIN + X to open Start context menu.
Select Command Prompt (Admin).

Run the following commands sequentially. Wait for each one to finish as it can take awhile.

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow

See if that helps. If not try a System Restore to before this started happening.

Thank you for trying to help.  Unfortunately, this did not work either.  I guess I will just have to put up with it.  It's not as bad as other problems could be at least.
