Hey everyone,

So I just installed Ubuntu onto one of my machines. I have no idea how to use Ubuntu and want to learn how to use it efficiently. Can someone give me some tips. Also, what are some good things to install onto Ubuntu?

Thanks

Hi, this site offers a plenty of articles on how to manage Ubuntu. As far as useful programs go, you have Software Center in Ubuntu, used to install software. You can install software depending upon your needs, for example, if you need an office suite application you can install Libre Office, if you need a picture editor you can install GIMP, etc...

I would suggest going to the Ubuntu "General Help" Forum for any problems. They helped me with a couple of bugs.

I use Lubuntu which is a lighter Ubuntu based OS.

I think FireFox is the stock web browser but I switched to Chrome and that works better for me, it loads faster.

Just make sure your software and everything is updated as much as possible and you will be fine.

Another note, don't go typing lots of commands in the Terminal unless you have some help for someone who knows what is needed.
