My daughter has had this phone for a year and had no problems with it. A day ago it suddenly stopped recognizing any wifi connection. The phone says it is scanning for wifi networks but never moves off of that or stops searching. Every other device in our home is currently connected to our wifi network.

So far she has rebooted her phone multiple times, scanned for virus(nothing found),rebooted router multiple times, changed the router channel, and has performed a factory reset of the phone all to no avail. She was in a store today that offered free wifi and her phone did not recognize this free network.

I would have thought the hard reset would have done the trick but it hasn't. If it was an overnight software update I wouldn't know since the reset deleted any evidence of that. An internet search doesn't turn up much in the way of help either. Is this a phone or Android issue?

Thoughts or advice appreciated.

I'm also interested in this answer.

My colleague has a tablet and kinda have the same problem.

His tablet can regognize every wifi connection except his own at home.

They tried the above steps too (router restart, factory reset, manually added wifi channel...etc) but nothing worked.
