Which version of MBAM are you suing is it paid for or free ?

Also would you like to try a change of AV (just temporary) to see if that is the cause of the slowdowns

Free MBAM. Happy to try anything - constant churning of info which starts exactly 20 minutes after I try and start working on my PC .

OK first off locate and save the licence file for Norton, then having done that :

Download to your desktop the Norton removal tool from here ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

Uninstall Norton via Control Panel > Programmes and features

After the reboot then run the removal tool that you downloaded

A further reboot will probably occur

At this stage your protection will be handled by windows defender. not brilliant but good enough for the short term :)
