I live in a 3 room apartment and the WiFi isn't as strong in the front room now I bought a WiFi extender but that only works a little bit now would a router work for the front room???

What equipment are you currently using for wifi now? You should be able to use a second router to extend the wifi.

I only have an WiFi extender but I think I should buy an actual router.

You might have an extender, but where is your original wifi coming from????
