Hello HaraMo,

Word still gives an error if I want to open a document.

You could try an office repair see here.

You could also run System File Checker.

Instructions are listed below and you can also go here for instructions on how to run System File Scanner in Win 8 and Win 8.1

Run System File Checker:

  • Press the Windows plus the X keys and release. This will open the Power User Tasks Menu.
  • If you don't have a keyboard then:
    • In Windows 8 or Windows RT, move the pointer all the way to the lower left corner of any connected display screen until you see the Start button display, then right click on the Start button.
    • On your desktop in Windows 8.1 or Windows RT 8.1, right click on the Start button on the taskbar of any connected display.
  • Click or tap on the Command Prompt (Admin)
  • A black screen will open
  • At the command prompt type sfc /scannow (note the space... it should be there) and press Enter

System File Checker will commence. It may take a while.

When finished you should see a message something along the lines of "found corrupt files and repaired them"

about google chrome, sometimes does not respond, don't know why, I only have one tab open (this forum page). it's only if I open google chrome.

You could try a reset.

Please go to the link below and follow the instructions on how to reset Google Chrome browser settings:

https://support.goog...r/3296214?hl=en

If that doesn't fix the problem maybe a reinstall would help.

If you don't know how to uninstall Chrome please go to the link below.

https://support.goog...wer/95319?hl=en

  • Click on "Windows instructions" and look under "Windows Vista/ Windows 7/ Windows 8"
  • Follow the instructions there.
  • Make sure you select the "Also delete your browsing data" at the uninstall.

To reinstall go here to download Chrome.

no threads found

I assume that means no threats found.

In that case I think we can go to removing the tools we have been using.

To clear away the tools we have been using download Delfix from here.

Put a check (tick) in the following boxes:

  • Activate UAC
  • Remove disinfection tools
  • Create registry backup
  • Purge System Restore
  • Reset System Settings
  • Then click Run

The tool will run for a short time. When completed a notepad window will open with a log. Please copy and paste the log back here.

Any remaining tools may be deleted.

When you return

  • tell me how you got on with Word and Chrome
  • post the Delfix log

Can I do the steps simultaneously, or do I have to do them one by one?

At this moment I first started sfc scannow.

Could I know reset google, and repair office (or reinstall if needed), while starting delfix (while sfc is running)?

Did a google reset, see how this goes, until so far, ok.

office repair:

I selected online repaiar after going to programs, select office 2013 theb hit the button 'change'.

This time it takes more time to repair ( Before the cleaning I tried online repair it was very quick ready and said that office is repaired but not).

But the repairing does not show anything. I left it for a long time.

Wheb I go to programms, I hit again change at office 2013, it says that there is a programm still buzzy , wait thil this one finished (my own words).

So I assume the repair is stil buzy , waited agian, but nothing happened. I wanted to open a word document, but it seems Word is not anymore on the laptop.

So I rebooted the laptop. Went back to programms : not office anymore to find...? hmmm

I think I have to reinstall it?

I think I have to reinstall it?

I find with my Office 2010 that when it does a repair it actually uninstalls and re-installs so maybe yes try reinstalling.

sfc scannow found things that it  could not  repair.

Download SFCFix.exe by niemiro and click on it to run.
A black panel will open.
Follow the prompts pressing the requisite keys to continue
Wait completion, the tool will take a little time (runtime is approximately 15 minutes)
When finished, follow the prompt to create a summary of results you will see notification of the result. If there are no corruptions please tell me. If there are some problems please copy and paste back here the complete logfile which will open on completion.
Simply copy (Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) the entire logfile.

SFCFIX hangs at 40% for more then 7 hours.

It should only take 15-20 minutes according to the textmessage.

Should I stop it? or leave it? It's still buzzy.

Yes I think that is too long.

You could try stopping it, rebooting it and trying it again. Don't wait more than half an hour though if it hangs.

Come back and tell me how it went.

After reboot, I copied the app in C drive , opened cmd administratior and it was finished in a few seconds:

sytem ok, , only I discovered a limitation:

two days ago, when I want to add an account , I receive a message that it's not possible. in control panel in useraccount, I tried to add an account, then the pc settings windows open with a message,

Today (just now) I tried again to see what the error message was like, but now it works.

I let sfc scannow run again, still some corruption that could not be solved.

I stil have to reinstall office, wil give it a try today later in the evening.
